INTRODUCTION

William Faulkner might have been confronted with an antinomy, with his own mirror analogues which could establish to seek to the sense of Art and Ethics in the world, because in certain cases of his works there is no opposition between feeling and knowing, imagination and consciousness. Whether is his style we are bound to search men as a whole. Surely, we could present and express it´s concerned to Style which refers to the author´s use of language, his selection of words, his ways of expressing himself, his expression of his feelings and emotions, his postulation about the world, his dreams and wishes. One writer may use as many figures of speech as a poet; another may employ a host of adjectives and adverbs; mother may write a sparse, direct prose. Style helps determine the tone of a story whether the tone is light or serious, comic or tragic, it will be created by the author´s use of particular words or phrases. Style helps establishing ethics through the ways of mean´s struggle to seek to own senses, and shows the conflicts each man experiences himself in this land called world. As someone reads, watches for the effects of style and try to determine how the author´s use of language creates a particular tone.
Fiction is one of the most basic ancient of human pleasures. The storyteller has been with us for as long as the human race has memories. The storyteller has been our consciousness of struggle to acquire a simple sense which expresses life withing itself. Stories can be told in poetry or prose. The epic poet novelist may spin them out to great length. The drama acts out its stories before our eyes; the opera sings its takes; the ballet dances them.
William Faulkner wrote seventeen books set in the mythical Yoknapatawpha county, home of the Compson´s family of "The Sound and the Fury". Time, then, to analyse Time and Mithology in Faulkner´s work.
